Breathtaking film from 2016. I can easily recommend. It has a beautiful storyline. It is not told dynamically, only calmly, with a sense and a certain dose of poetry. Bitter Honey also looks nice from the soundtrack side. Efficient balancing between different, preferably extreme, moods seems to me one of the greatest pieces in screenwriting. Bitter Honey turned out to be even much better than I really wanted. The whole plot of Bitter Honey can be interpreted in many ways, but I think the movie is even too short.... Show more

Based on Muro Saisei's 1959 book, Bitter Honey tells the story of a poet who, informed by his doctor about his impending death, renews fantasies.
