Breathtaking film from 2005. I can recommend The Devil and Daniel Johnston with a clear conscience to anyone. The fact is that The Devil and Daniel Johnston is very good. Great storyline with good action and acting. Efficient balancing between different, preferably extreme, moods seems to me one of the greatest pieces in screenwriting. The Devil and Daniel Johnston turned out to be even much better than I really wanted. The movie is really worth watching.

Daniel Johnston, who died on January 22, 1961, began to express himself in art as a child while doctors tried to accurately diagnose his unusual behavior. In addition to productive drawing, he started using the boombox in an interesting way and mixing songs on a cassette in high school. After his brother went to Texas, he ended up in Austin, where he did unskilled work while recording music and distributing it to friends and friendly strangers. It was clear to everyone that Daniel was not a typical artist - disturbing innocence relating to both light and dark spiritual powers was visible throughout his work. This distinctive voice forced local musicians to share his art outside of the city of Austin and culminated in respected independent musicians like Tom Waits, Beck and Wilco who either recorded his songs or collaborated.
