People interested in movies probably already heard about Vampyr. The actors are also really convincing in their roles. Pictures and scenography in Vampyr are great. Efficient balancing between different, preferably extreme, moods seems to me one of the greatest pieces in screenwriting. Vampyr turned out to be even much better than I really wanted. I must admit that thanks to a skilful and insightful approach to the subject, while not falling into exaggerated pathos, a considerable revolution was made in the entertainment cinema.... Show more

Allan Gray arrives late at the quiet riverside inn in Courtempierre. An old man enters the room, places a sealed package on the table, reproaches that a woman cannot die, and disappears. Gray feels a cry for help. He puts the package in his pocket and leaves. Amazing shadows lead him to the old house, where he meets a strange village doctor. The doctor receives a bottle of poison from a strange old woman. Gray recognizes the old man from the inn through the window of the old castle. The shadow shoots the dead. At home, Gray finds two daughters, Gisèle and Léone, and several servants. He opens the package and finds an old book about vampires. Léone is seriously ill after being bitten by a vampire. Instead of helping her, the village doctor places a bottle of poison on the bedside table and then kidnaps Sister Gisèle.
